Let Liberty Shine: YAFO Institute Releases Annual Report on Advancing Freedom and Prosperity in Ghana.

The YAFO Institute is delighted to announce the publication of its 2024 Annual Report: Let Liberty Shine, which highlights a year of significant progress, policy reform, and deepening organizational strength aimed at promoting civil liberty, free enterprise, and prosperity in Ghana.

The year 2024 details our effort and commitment to research-backed advocacy for freedom. Through various initiatives, including the Policy Dialogue Series, to inform individuals on key government policies and their impact on the economy and livelihood. Our research-backed policy reform efforts focused on policies such as Planting for Food & Jobs, Employment Policy: NABCO, NEIP, YOUSTART, Regional Reorganization and Zongo Development Fund, and Free Senior High School Policy. Our continued advocacy against nuisance taxes such as  Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy), Emission Tax, and a change.org campaign against COVID-19 tax.

The efforts we make is important to nation-building but comes with challenges as most policy reforms efforts are given the ‘neutral tag’ in our socio-political discourse. The annual reports restate our commitment as a think tank to objectivism and call on Ghanaians to hold us accountable to free-market principles. The free-market principles that underpin our work emphasize individual liberty, personal responsibility, and limited government intervention in people’s lives.

Our strong dedication and commitment to developing free-market principles in Ghana helped us win the Africa Tank Shark Tank Award 2024 in Tanzania by Atlas Network, USA. As a result, the 2024 annual report reflects our ongoing commitment to let liberty shine.

The President of YAFO Institute, Mr. Nathaniel Dwamena, restated our commitment to free-market in the 2024 annual report as “the tenets of liberty are broad yet bleeding in Ghana, there is the need for free-market organization to collaborate to safeguard liberty in our society. Ghanaians want to see their property right being upheld, lower taxes, less government intrusion, less regulatory red tapes and barriers to prosperity removed in their pursuit of happiness”.
