Policy Ground – Liberty Sphere 10th – 11th September, 2025
The Liberty Sphere project—Policy Ground Training—is a groundbreaking initiative designed to foster and promote free-market ideas in Ghana through a dynamic two-day policy training program and liberty. This training aims to equip participants with the theoretical foundations and practical skills essential for effectively advocating for the principles of liberty. By focusing on the fundamental tenets of libertarian thought, such as the importance of individual liberty, free markets, property rights, and limited government, the program aims to cultivate a robust community of young advocates who can articulate these ideas in a relatable and impactful manner.
Who can attend
The Policy Ground Training is an intensive two-day residential public policy training program designed to educate individual change makers, students, journalists, activists, and entrepreneurs in Ghana on free market ideas and public policy and build their capacity to articulate free-market solutions to policy challenges limiting free society in Ghana.
Venue
The Liberty Sphere 2025 will be hosted at the Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training College in Aburi, Ghana. The program will cover the accommodation costs for participants.
Course Component
- Fundamentals of Liberty Policy: This course will delve into the foundational principles of liberty, exploring concepts such as individual rights, property ownership, free trade, and the rule of law. This segment will emphasize the role of government in the economy and private property rights and the philosophical underpinnings of democracy and market economics.
- Public Policy Formulation: This component of the course will study the foundations of public policy in Ghana. Lectures will feature public policy formulation, development, and implementation. State institutions involved in public policy formulation and Ghana’s constitutional vision for public policy for overall development in Ghana. The course will help learners analyze current public policy challenges and develop solutions grounded in free-market, objectivism, and civil liberty.
- Effective Policy Reform Advocacy: The course will incorporate hands-on training in effective communication, public speaking, and grassroots organizing. Participants will learn from practical case studies and expertise in advocacy. Participants will also engage in group discussions, and strategy sessions to develop their ability to articulate libertarian ideas persuasively. This will empower participants to navigate policy discussions and engage with stakeholders confidently.
- Battle Grounds Policy Pitch: Throughout the training, learners will have access to experienced facilitators and guest speakers, including economists, policy analysts, and activists, who will share their insights and experiences in advancing liberty-based initiatives. At the end of the training, learners would have the opportunity to take a policy challenge to champion within their community in contributing to moving Ghana towards a free society. The selected challenge will be pitched before a panel of judges to decide on winners for cash price (1st – GHS8,000, 2nd – GHS5,000, and 3rd – GHS3,000). The winners of the Battle Grounds Policy Pitch would a one-year mentorship from the YAFO Institute.
