The YAFO Institute is set to host the Liberty Sphere 2026, a flagship initiative bringing together individual change makers, university students, journalists and media professionals, civil society activists, entrepreneurs, policy advocates and community leaders to engage with ideas surrounding individual liberty, free enterprise, public policy and economic prosperity.
The three-day program, scheduled for 23–25 September 2026 at the Anagkazo Campus, Mampong–Aburi, will feature the Liberty Sphere Policy Grounds Training from 23–24 September, culminating in the Liberty Sphere Conference 2026 on 25 September.
The Policy Ground Training
The Liberty Sphere Policy Grounds Training is designed to equip selected young participants with the knowledge, analytical skills and practical tools needed to understand and engage effectively in public policy.
Through interactive lectures, discussions and practical sessions, participants will explore themes including foundation of free market economics, property rights, building mission and building lasting business, public policy fundamentals, welfarism, research for policy change and fundraising. The program will also provide participants with opportunities to interact with experienced practitioners and develop their capacity to contribute to policy conversations in their communities and beyond.
The Liberty Sphere 2026 will feature prominent speakers who will facilitate various training sessions including Prof. Enoch Opoku Antwi (Ghana), Prof. Ken Schoolland (USA), Dr. Albert Kobina Mensah (Ghana), Dr. Eamonn Butler (UK), Mr. Ebenezer Tackie Oblie (Ghana), Li Schoolland (USA) and Nathaniel Dwamena (Ghana). Additionally, the YAFO Institute will commemorate the 250th anniversary of Adam Smith’s landmark work, under the theme, ‘The Wealth of Nations at 250: Freedom, Enterprise and the Future of Prosperity.
A key component of the training will be the Battlegrounds Policy Pitch, which will challenge participants to apply what they have learned to contemporary policy issues and present practical policy solution and win up to Ghs6,000 at the climax of Liberty Sphere Dinner and Awards 2026.
The Liberty Sphere Conference 2026
The training will culminate in the Liberty Sphere Conference 2026 on 25 September, under the theme “The Future of Freedom in Ghana”, and at the Anagkazo Campus, Mampong – Aburi.
The conference is a day-long program slated to commence at 8 am to 16 pm and will bring together distinguished speakers and participants for discussions on some of the major issues shaping Ghana and Africa’s economic and digital future.
The key 3 conference sessions will explore start-up finance and Ghana’s digital economy; women’s leadership, cybersecurity and digital governance; and entrepreneurship, trade and innovation under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Liberty Sphere Conference will feature additional speakers including, Dr. Ike Tandoh, Haruna-Rasheed Mohammed Esq., Peter Asare Nyarko, Peter Adetor, Angela Okai-Nartey, Maureen Owusu-Addea, Samiratu Mohammed, and Samuel Eze.
The conference will provide a platform for participants and the wider public to exchange ideas, build networks and examine how innovation, entrepreneurship and sound public policy can contribute to greater economic opportunity.
